Dr. Beetle is the owner of the amazing Conjuration store where you can find homemade Florida water, bay rum, and Chinese wash; not to mention a fantastic line of oils, dolls, charms, and necklaces.  Click the pictures below to be relocated to her shop.

Marcus Brown is the name of an old black cemetery in South Carolina (Charleston). The dirt encrusted head of Marcus (making him a Lazarus of sorts) was named for this cemetery. There is, by the way, grave dirt (and crossroads dirt) mixed in with the dirt on his head. His clothes are denim, with grass straps & small animal bones as buttons. His eyes are comprised of a rosehip and a tooth of an obedient dead man. The material his shirt is made from is vintage 1931 calico, from my own supply. His “pitchfork” is a staff, a crooked stick fo him ta hit that straight lick!. It is raw liquorish. His legs are weighted with Drangons Blood (for sacrifice) & lodestone (attraction). He will protect you and work for you against your enemies. Feed him with Southern whisky on the tips of his sleeves and pant hems from time to time.

Sarah, Ms.African-American Gothic, has had her head covered (painstakingly!) in dried pressed flowers. Predominantly heartsease, pansy, but roses, forget-me-nots, cosmos, hydrangeas, and more. i used a silicone base to affix them so touch as little as possible please! Her dress is made from an American stars itty bitty print (modern). Her shirt is composed of vintage 1920’s- 1930’s calico scraps. Her hair is made of antique victorian ribbon fringe from my collection. She will heal your spirit and accompany you in dream if you as her to.Or protect your body while you are travelin’. She will protect from evil. She is primarily blue for all of those reasons. Her eyes are made of a glass globe filled with grass & a dried Globe Amaranth. Feed her with holy water on sleeves and hems from time to time.Together they will have you very well covered. Idealy they should not be seperated, as together, they are greater than the sum of their parts.
